Lace Cakes & Custom Garters!

In Ancient Roman wedding ceremonies were finalized by smashing a cake over the bride’s head as a symbol of good fortune. The newly married couple then ate a few bites and, afterwards, the wedding guests gathered up the crumbs as tokens of good luck.

Fortunately, things have definitely improved for brides (and guests) since the days of the ancient Rome!  Although Queen Victoria may have started the trend of extremely elaborate cakes, you don't have to be royalty to have a fancy cake at your own wedding.  And since cakes can even cost as much as the bride's wedding gown, it isn't going over the top to have your wedding cake designed to match the lace of your dress, is it?

Every Bride to Be knows that you should not neglect your undergarments and if you don't want to wear your mother's wedding dress, you can have a custom made garter from a sentimental piece of lace from it made by Frances Smily Lingerie
